We Cruised on the Diamond Princess to the Mexican Riviera on April 14 2007. This was our 3rd Cruise we did this cruise last year on the Diamond's sister ship the Sapphire Princess as well as a 15 day Hawaiian Cruise on the Island Princess. We tried cruising last year and fell in love with cruising from day 1. We chose Princess because we had heard good things from family and once we tried Princess we loved them. We are in our mid 30's and have no kids and love to travel.

We live in Anaheim Ca. so we drove to the port and parked in the secure lot. Parking came to $96 for eight days. We left our house about 10:45 and arrived at port at 11:15. A porter greeted us at the curb and I off loaded the bags and went to park while my wife tipped the porter. We went to check in and there was no line. Check in took no more than 5 minutes. We were given boarding passes with group 5. They started boarding at 2:30 and we were on board in no time at all.

We had our first Mini Suite after having regular balcony cabins on our 1st 2 cruises. the Mini Suite was great a nice sofa that we used more than I thought and a large balcony we used less than we thought. We loved the covered balcony on the Emerald deck. The bathroom was great especially the tub/Shower as opposed to the standard balcony stand up shower. We did hear some noise from Club Fusion. The noise was not bad we just went to sleep with the TV on and it ground out any noise (the TV had a sleep timer) We also felt some Vibration while docking but it was not bad. I would not hesitate to book this room again.
