Arrival at the port was slow waiting for others to unload. Once we pulled into the unloading zone things went quick. When we finished unloading you were directed to the parking area where you then walk to the check in point. Check in was somewhat different than what we had experienced before ( At Tampa) We belong to the Carnival Club therefore we are VIP passengers and shy of an earlier check in ( not standing in lines) that was the only special treatment we received. We had to wait in line with all the others for photographs and no special assistance getting on board... A carnival screw up.. When we finally made it to the Lido deck we enjoyed lunch and wondered the ship waiting for our room. Rooms weren't ready until 2P.M. once in our room ( window room Main floor) we were surprised to find that it actually was a twin bed room where the two beds were put together ( which was fine) However, you couldn't walk around the bed to get to the window or get in bed. I needed to crawl across the bed everytime I wanted in/out or to look out the window. I guess I shouldn't complain because a few hours later my husband started with a high fever, sick stomach and running to the bathroom. Yes, it was the norovirus. Anywho, we went to the infirmary and found a very kind thoughtful nurse who gave him a shot, tylenol and other meds and said now you are quarantined for at least 24 hours. I asked if others were sick and she said a few crew members and then a very ill younger man entered with the same symptoms. Hubby was in bed for 3 1/2 days. We had to call service 2 times for our room as we had no electric in the plugs and our sink drain would not drain. Our stewart captain Joseph was wonderful but couldn't clean our rooms, or even enter*** see the infirmary puts out an email stating who is sick and everything comes to a halt. I was able to collect clean towels and ice from Joseph in the hall.

Needless to say I went to Grand Turk alone and it was beautiful.. My thoughts on Half Moon Key is that is also beautiful but nothing to do but enjoy the water and sand. Don't plan on any great gift shops because there aren't any. Nassau was crazy as there were 5 ships in and you couldn't even walk throughout the straw market. Been there before so it really didn't matter. I ate most meals at the Lido deck didn't want to create a problem with our table sharers in the dining room. Getting off the ship was a total nightmare.. VIP's were instructed to go to Dukes'piano bar at 7:30 A.M., we were there and at 7:50 we were directed down the stairs ( what a night mare for people with young kids, strollers and baggage) and then we waited and waited, actually the yellow coded passengers were off the ship prior to VIP's another Carnival problem!!! We managed to get to our car at 9 A.M. and headed down the road. I must say the room stewart, the woman at the infirmary and the other employees were all nice and helpful but Carnival screwed up this trip!!!
