Here is my belated review of our Spirit cruise on 11/30/06:

This was our 10th cruise on NCL, and our first on the NCL Spirit from NYC to the Southern Caribbean. The Spirit is a beautiful ship! Very different from the Dawn as far as dEcor, but similar in layout. In fact, we kept getting turned around thinking we were on the Dawn! We had a balcony cabin on deck 11, which I was thinking was smaller than our balcony staterooms on the Dawn, but after being there a few days we realized it was the same size. We liked the fact that the closet had sliding doors instead of doors that opened into the narrow hallway, but the second night we were really rocking and one of the catches was broken on the door, so it kept banging back and forth! DH finally got up and stuffed a sock between the doors, and one mention to the Hotel Director the next evening and it was fixed before we went to bed! We also really missed not having a refrigerator. We don't drink a lot of beer, but like to save a little by buying a bucket and storing it in the fridge. The bathroom was so pretty -- loved the fish tiles!

Since we became "gold" latitudes members on this cruise, we received beautiful gold pins (with a diamond chip) and travel journals -- very nice! Lisa, the concierge, was wonderful -- spoke to her on the phone and had her make dinner reservations for us, but didn't bother her with much else. She was always willing to do anything we asked, however! We also received treats every day at around 4:00, and sometimes twice a day - much more than "advertised" for gold latitudes members!
