Flying-make sure you fly the day before your boat departs. Our plane reservation was canceled but we were ok because we did not need to be on the boat until the next day. There were many people who missed their boat(Princess cruise lines) and had to fly to the next port the boat was docking at.
Getting on the boat was so easy and only took about ten minutes(Princess line looked very long). RCL deserves a medal for their service.
The boat itself was very nice. We haven't cruised since 1980 so this felt like our first time. Our room was great. I would suggest you make sure there are rooms above and below you. Our dinner mates were below the windjammer buffet and could hear the food carts rolling above them. Our room was in the middle of the boat and was very convenient to the elevators and stairs.
Excursions- We booked 2 over the internet and found the website not user friendly. The Stingray city was a definite must but you need to realize the time they give for the excursion includes from the time you leave the boat until you come back. The actual excursion itself is 45 minutes. Excursion tip: When you get to your room you can see all the excursions on the tv. You can really see what the excursions look like. It was very hard to picture them from the book they send you.
Skip the Adventure Park. It was nothing special. The snorkeling was ok but you had to swim in a group and you felt like you were always on top of the other snorkelers.
Shows- I really enjoyed all the shows. Some were not too special but overall very enjoyable.
Food- Overall the food was good. We ate at the first sitting and sat with people we did not know. You should do this, its a lot of fun meeting new people. We only ate at the windjammer for lunch and breakfast.
Food tip- Eat breakfast in the dining hall. Less people(alot less) and the food and service are better.
Tip: Ignore all the raffles they have on the ship. They are trying to get you to spend money.
Unfortunately, I felt RCL(I am sure all the cruise lines)always had their hand in my pocket for the entire cruise. Would I do it again? Definitely, YES, just ignore all the money traps.
