Just returned from our 8 day cruise 3/31-4/8. Living in San Diego makes it a breeze to get to the ship. The embarkation process was smooth and we were on the ship in no time. We took our daughter, who is 34, on her first cruise, and had two separate cabins. One hint, if you are not into wild and rude children do not take this cruise during Easter break. We did due to it fitting our needs, but will never do it again. The first day the kids ran wild through the hallways, stairs, and just about everywhere else, while dominating all three pools and hot tubs. The last day of the cruise, parents let them run wild.

This was our 6th Carnival cruise and the 1st on the Spirit. The ship decor was gaudy but expected. Our first night we found our way to the Shanghai Bar and wound up going there every night thereafter. James the piano man was awesome and so funny. Many great laughs. Sergyi our server was also a lot of fun here. One issue that Carnival needs to address though is underage children in the bars after 10pm. We were surprised parents would even bring them in and then ask James to turn his act down. Give me a break!

The food in the La Playa Grill was marginal. Quantity but quality not great. The pizza stand never seemed to have a piece of pepperoni always saying it would be 7 minutes. When we did pick up some, a majority of the time the dough was not cooked through.
