We flew in to LGA a few days before the cruise to use up some Marriott points at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square...what an absolute treat!! Perhaps the most comfortable beds anywhere! And you can't beat the location. Spent a few days riding the subway everywhere - even up into Harlem where we had the real New York experience of seeing a dead body lying in the middle of the avenue as we made our way from one jazz club to another! All in all - a great time in NYC before embarkation.

As many have heard, the Dawn had been having some azipod issues for several weeks -- and many received a last minute call from their travel agent or NCL informing them that Bahamas and Jamaica were cancelled, and Key West + a day at sea + $100/SR replaced them (or optionally you could completely cancel with full refund -- not an option for us). We said to ourselves that we are ON VACATION -- we will go with what we've got.
