Embarkation was easy and there were characters ready to greet the kids. There were also cartoons and a nice waiting area. We didn't have to wait long. We had a family of 6 so we had adjoining oceanview suites and they were very nice. It was great having the view as well as two bathrooms. The bunkbed that comes down out of the ceiling was great. We could have slept 8 in our two cabins. We had a fabulous room host-- he was very nice and helpful. The fitness/adult recreation activities could have been better in my opinion. I would have loved a dance class or more workout type classes but there weren't many. There were a lot of family activities. We did have a couples massage that was great. The kids programs were wonderful. However our teenagers 13 & 14 were not too excited about their program. They are starting one for 10 - 14 year olds but it wasn't always open and they weren't allowed to join the 10 - 12 year olds. The teenagers were a little older and were a little intimidating to our younger teens. It was also a bummer because they had a 12 year old cousin that they couldn't do the program with.

The food was uneven. The breakfasts were ok but we've had better on Royal Caribbean. I thought that the food was sometimes great and sometimes just ok. I highly recommend Palo-- it was wonderful. Also the captains night which was on Thursday is a lobster night. That was also a great meal. The Pirate night on Tuesday was also a lot of fun and good food. The entertainment was awesome. They had great shows every night. I am a music teacher and can be critical but they really did a fabulous job. We also enjoyed seeing all of the characters on the ship. Our 3 & 6 year old loved the shows and the characters. They also liked their program and swimming in the Mickey pool. The only rough spot in our vacation was the ports. When we got to St. Thomas we unexpectedly had to tender and the last tender left at 4:00. We had to wait an hour after arriving at 3:00. The last people to board-- those who arrived at 3:58 were the first to get off the tender boat and we had kids crying that had to go to the bathroom because they made us wait so long. It was 1 1/2 hours in all. If I would have known that I would have taken more time to shop in St. Thomas. The Disney employees were the first off the boat and did nothing to help with crowd control on the tender boat. They also took down the shade tents and benches and let us wait in the hot sun for 30 minutes while we had to wait for 2 other boats. When we went on a cruise with Royal Caribbean, tender boats came smoothly every 15 minutes. It was honestly like they never had to do it before. It was that unorganized .

We went to St. John and had a lovely safari bus tour of the island and snorkeled in Trunk Bay. I just wish it was longer. However, when we complained they sent us rainforest spa passes and toys for our kids. Unfortunately we also had rain at Castaway Cay on a day we would not have to tender. That was a bummer because it looks like a cool place. We didn't get to enjoy it for long though. My husband and boys were able to go snorkeling and loved what time they had there. Disney was great for the younger kids but I wish we would have had better port experiences. I also thought the food could have been better with the cost of this cruise. I think next time we'll just "remember the Magic" and take our kids on Royal Caribbean.
