This was to be the "best cruise of all times" for us. My wife Marsha & her, sister Pam were fulfilling a dream of their recently deceased Aunt Gussie to "go on a family cruise together". This was to have the two sisters & their husbands enjoy a send off wake celebration aboard a cruise ship! Well, Aunt Gussie what a way to go, what a way to forever be remembered. We have previously enjoyed sailing the Caribbean Princess, inside cabin, doing the Eastern Caribbean in March 2005. It is amazing how details of crew service reminded us of our first experience aboard the "CB". We live in Vero Beach, Florida and have a 2 hour drive to the Port Everglades, Terminal #2.

EMBARKATION: Driving into the Port is more quickly done from the north side off 17TH street. The County Sheriff requires Identification of all people entering the Port. The line is shorter at the north end opposite the airport. We found this to be a twenty minute transition in time, the cab drivers love this extra meter money, so get a fixed price to the Port if possible. When you first pull up to the ship, this is the passenger drop off area on the south end. The luggage drop-off area which is located at the middle wharf next to the middle of the ship is the next area. I tip the luggage porters $5.00 asking that my bags be placed together in the cage. If your bags are together in the inspection cage then that cage is placed in the ship, your luggage gets to the room together. The police strictly enforce the stop signs at the Port.

ROOM: We chose the aft of the ship for a great view. The aft rooms have no side wind during sailing. They offer a rushing sound of the water and the rear end of the ship is lighted at night giving us a 24 hour view of the bubbling, churning ocean waters. The sounds of the churning water was barely audible with the door closed. The new sheets & duvet were great. The lotus spa soaps, lotions, shampoos, & et al were of the Eucalyptus scent. The shower has a safety clicker on the hot water, but a very tiny space for large people to shower. The LED night lite that I brought with me provided just enough colored lite at night. We found that the refrigerator was ample size to keep our water, soda and ice. The beds are in need of replacement since better sleep systems are now available. We requested constant extra ice & extra beach towels for the room since the tiny white bath towels don't cover me. Riccardo, our cabin steward, has been 18 years with Princess did a fantastic job for us.
