We were really excited before taking the new Quantum of the Seas cruise. A couple of weeks before sailing, I started reading reviews and was very concerned about the negative reviews. After sailing, I realized that usually people that write reviews had a really bad experience and/or are in a bad mood and do not enjoy the simple things in life. For us (43 and 36 yrs old) a cruise means vacation. No internet. No worries. Sleeping when we wanted. Eating when we wanted. We enjoyed watching people walk around, listening to music, playing games (trivia, Sudoku), dancing, etc. So for this reason, we mostly enjoyed what the Quantum of the Seas has to offer. Here is my review:
1. Embarkation process- smooth and fast. Honestly, it took less than 15 minutes (4 adults and 1 child). The key to the stateroom was right outside our door. Once we were in, our key cards and “WOW’ bracelets were waiting inside the room. The only negative comment I have about the process is that people in the terminal (Cape Liberty) were very rude. However, I think these were terminal employees, not from Royal Caribbean.
2. Stateroom- We had a room with a balcony. Good room size, two closets, plenty of storage. Bed was comfortable (considering that always your bed at home is more comfy). Negative side: bathroom area was kind of small for us (my husband is 6’6). Probably is fine for an average size person. Our steward “V” was very attentive and friendly.
