It had been 10 years since we last cruised on Celebrity. At one time, Celebrity was our first choice in cruise lines. They had great ships like the Horizon and Century as well as excellent food. Then things at Celebrity quickly deteriorated, so we began sailing with other lines. Recently we heard that Celebrity had greatly improved its food, so we returned for a 7 day cruise primarily to check things out in hopes of booking longer cruises for this fall in Europe.
On the positive side, the itinerary was excellent - wonderful ports and ample time to explore them. On board the ship, the service was generally very good, except in the lounge near the main desk which amazingly did not have a waiter during happy hour. The stage shows were consistently among the best we have seen at sea. The Wines of the World Tasting was a real treat - very well done.
As on past trips on Celebrity, we found many crew members aggressively hawking their wares. As we exited the dining room each morning after breakfast, we had to pass by a dining staff member in the hallway hustling reservations for the specialty restaurants. Surprisingly even waiters "advised" us that we should book our next Celebrity cruise soon, if we had not already done so.
Nice, but very small - storage is limited.
