After 33 cruises mainly on Regent, Crystal, Windstar, Silversea and river cruises we were enticed to try Oceania. We were first booked on a 10 day cruise to the W Caribbean ; then Oceania offered us a great opportunity to move to the E Caribbean cruise.

WE LIKED: hand sanitizers all over the ship, easy embarkation and disembarkation, outstanding pastries, grissini, and some of the best pain raisin and brioche, specialty restaurants that sparkled with lovely table setting( mediocre food ), delicious coffee and coffee drinks, homemade ice creams and sorbets, the last night parade of the staff so everyone could acknowledge their hard work, a speedy internet considering you are at sea, and decent entertainment (only one show), gorgeous high tea with a new variety each day, a spa that rivals any at sea, and great manicures using Deborah Lippmann products. Service was haphazard the entire cruise with minimal co-ordination of staff in restaurants and especially on the Terrace deck. Our room steward Rosario was a rock star keeping our cabin immaculate.

WE DID NOT LIKE: the entrees and appetizers at dinner were miserable, beef was certainly not prime, and I am not sure it was even choice, lobster is langoustine, Terrace Café is like a high school cafeteria, sushi was tasteless certainly not close to the advertised best sushi at sea, and the constant advertisement that the food is the best at sea is downright false advertising, the casino is drab and machines that were outdated 20 years ago. The sale of really downright cheap merchandise in the main lobby is tacky . We were in the Concierge level cabin; and I am not sure it is worth the extra $. One other note on day one we arrived at 2:00 to the Terrace Grill and it was quite busy. We were never offered a beverage after sitting for 30 minutes with many staff all around; it was just total disorganization .

Cabin A2

Lovely veranda room and well maintained. The room had an abundance of storage space and comfortable bedding.
