My wife and I just completed a 7 day eastern Caribbean cruise on the Regal Princess. We have been going on at least 1 cruise a year on Princess for a number of years. Last year due to several injuries and surgeries we were not able to go on any cruise. Our last one was in November 2013 on the Royal Princess, actually it was the same 7 day cruise. This was our 14th princess cruise. I was so happy to be back on a Princess ship. I really missed the whole cruising experience. We flew down the morning of the cruise from Baltimore on a very early flight. It actually landed at Ft. Lauderdale about 20 minutes early. We deplaned and got our bags fairly quickly. We took the princess transfer to the port as we usually do. It was about 11:30 when we got to the ship. Being a platinum member we can bypass long lines to check in. Since it was so early I thought we would have to wait until noon to check in. But to my surprise we checked in right away. We got on the ship and found out the cabins would be ready at 1pm. We went to the spa so my wife could sign up for the Enclave for the week. She so enjoyed it on the Royal. After taking the tour and signing up we realized we ate such an early breakfast so we went to Alfredo's for a great pizza and a glass of their Classic Sangrea. We used to go to the horizon court but always find it to be very crowded during embarkation. We were not disappointed. Alfredo's made us feel very welcome. After our pizza we shared a tira misu for dessert, very yum. Now we were able to go to our cabin. When we get there we find our luggage waiting outside of our cabin door, another first. We chose a regular balcony cabin. It did seem to be a little smaller than I remembered but very comfortable. After unpacking we walk around a bit before the muster drill. I signed up on the roll call for a sail away party and a meet and greet on the first sea day. Not many people show up to the sail away party.

We are anytime diners and had dinner in the Symphony dining room on deck 5. We were able to get a table for 2. After a wonderful dinner we go to the welcome aboard show. The weeks entailment looks promising. A singing ventriloquist that does impressions was on for about 20 minutes. He was very funny and talented. A great first day.

Our cabin Steward was very good. He got our cabin done very quickly every day. The service in the Symphony dining room was excellent all week. And no complaints about the food either. We didn't try any of the speciality restaurants this cruise so I can't rate them. We did see a movie under the stars. I was a little disappointed that the popcorn machine wasn't set up. Popcorn was brought around a bit into the movie but it wasn't hot and when cookies and milk was brought around they ran out before getting to us. They never came back with more. We got some ourselves after the movie ended.

The balcony cabin was comfortable but I think a little smaller than the Emerald class of ships. The balcony is definitely smaller.
