To begin... The breakaway is a beautiful ship. There are many things to keep you busy on board, if only they were open when you wanted to actually try them. The rope course and the plank were the defining moment of excitement on my trip. Sadly, the ship had only two banks (eight each) of elevators, one just fore of mid ships and one just fore of aft. It seems where ever you wanted to go was generally on the other end of the ship and there were way too few elevators to handle 4500 people. The lack of an indoor pool for the lower class (oops I mean lesser paying class) and the restricted areas for haven passengers only made me think of the days on the titanic when the classes were originally separated by income. I did notice that any time I passed an open haven or vibe area that there were little if no people in them... Sad.

The solo cabin (11561) was beautiful and had plenty of room and storage as long as your not too tall to use the commode. I once had to step out of the shower just to be able to pick up a shampoo bottle I dropped. NCL's advertising states that you don't pay the single supplement... But if you do the math you will see that it is fully built into the price. I paid $1470 for a solo room with the drink package, taxes, port charges, tips, etc. for just $200 more I could have brought someone with me, and we both would have had the drink pkg and an ocean view room. But none the less, I wanted to try both NCL and the Solo cabins. The solo lounge was also very nice with a few free extra's available. It was nice to meet nightly with the asst cruise director (?) who volenterred to help us with seats in the MDR's and for the shows.

Service overall was the worst I've experinced at both the bars and the food area's. This was a common conversation amongst everyone I talked to during the week. What food that was available was often cold or dried out. Seehans was the only oasis of service and good food on the entire ship (note that for my first NCL trip I wanted to enjoy their MDR's and did not get the extra dinner pkg).
