Having been on 10 cruises previously to different parts of the world with other cruise lines we were really looking forward to our trip to Australia which we booked about 2 years ago with the "5 star Celebrity Solstice".....what a disappointment to say the least. Unless you want to upgrade to the speciality restaruants or Aqua Class give it a miss. One of the chefs did a demonstration in the Atrium showing the best way to prepare fish and how to recognize the freshness of it.......It's a pity he didn't share it with his colleagues as the fish was the worst I've ever tasted, the local chippy serves better!!! The Entertainment was quite often repeated & out of 17 nights I can only say 3 of the acts were watchable. The ship itself is beautiful but when you only get 7 stops & the Entertainment Officer is advising you not to disembark (Port Hedland) & another stop is so bad you can't get a tender off (Cairns) you start getting stir crazy. My impression of Celebrity is they are trying to cut corners by making you pay to get any kind of service. Chugging along to save fuel & getting into ports late to avoid docking fees. The lack of respect for the dress code was also an issue with guests in the public areas wearing vests, shorts and flip flops in formal evenings.....very classy! This is certainly not a 5 star ship, they need to get their act together & I personally will never use you again!!!! One very sad customer!
