This was our 3rd Carnival cruise, and by far the best. The entertainment at the theater was fantastic. Jen, the Cruise Director, was first class and as entertaining as the dancers/singers. It was a real treat to have Jen as Cruise Director. The theater opened up 30 minutes before the performances, and if you got there early you could sit as close to the stage as you wanted or find great seats in the balcony. People who didn't attend the theater performances wasted their cruise money for sure. The dancers/singers obviously loved doing what they were doing and were extremely talented. All I can say about the entertainment is "Oh my God!"

We generally ate in the dining room. Tablecloth dining and casual clothes except for the two dress up evenings, which means a tie, or dress. Great selections on food, new entrees every evening, and the servers entertained with a song & dance every evening. Some evenings, I have to admit, the food moved a little slow. Lots of other food choices. Very nice buffet, chocolate buffet on the last day, great sandwich bar, Mongolian line, Burrito bar, the Pizza Pirate, and Guy's Burgers. I don't like to waste my valuable stomach space on burgers when I'm on a cruise, but friends kept encouraging me to try Guy's Burgers. So, my wife and I split one. Wow! After eating Guy's burgers (twice) I'm going to have a hard time eating regular burgers on land again. Dang! Next cruise we go on is going to have to have a Guy's Burger Joint! One thing my wife and I really enjoyed was being seated in the dining room at breakfast/brunch with other cruisers who we had never met before. We met a lot of interesting people that way. In fact, we have taken 3 cruises with a couple we met on our first Carnival Cruise. The only complaint I have about the food is about all the food that so many cruisers waste. The food was great and I would say to those wasters, if you aren't going to eat it, don't take it.

The staff worked really hard to clean the rooms and ship, and serve 10,000 meals a day to 3,000 cruisers and 1,000 workers. Great job, staff! Freedom is a really nice ship. Everything ran smoothly. We were on the 6th floor and had a bit of a problem with casino noise around 11 PM on occasion, which we think had to do with some kind of casino contests announcements. No problem for me but it bothered my wife. After notifying the service desk about the problem they actually forgave about $80 on our cruise bill and offered us a 10% discount on our next cruise, which I thought was more than fair. Very minor problem it was.

Cabin Review

Cabin interior

We had an interior cabin on the 6th floor. We always cruise for the best deal, and these rooms are the cheapest. The room was very clean and big enough for my wife and me. We don't cruise for a fancy room, we cruise for what we can find outside of the room. The only time we need the room is when we shower, change, need to rest, store our belongings, and sleep. No need to pay hundreds of dollars more for a porthole or balcony when there is plenty of deck space to get the same things for free.
