We were looking to go on a family vacation during February-April. I traveled with my husband and 2 year old. I have cruised a lot in the past on a variety of lines, and I believe certain lines cater to different kinds of people, however if you are going to relax, eat, have some drinks, and enjoy some beautiful weather any cruise line will give you that.

The Conquest is an older ship, but has received Carnival's upgrades. I was intrigued by the reviews of Blue Iguana and Guy's Burger on the Lido deck and the Alchemy Bar on Deck 5. All lived up to our expectations which were high.

The food in the MDR was average cruise food, but above average as to what you'll see at your local restaurants or made in your own kitchen. The reason I enjoy the MDR is there is a nice variety and the food is cooked well. They have swapped out some of the extras they served in the past, but I find the food always enjoyable, and quite simply, if you are not pleased order something else. If it is not enough, order more. If you can't decide, order both. The highlight in the MDR is sea day brunch. It is a nice switch from Lido deck food on a relaxing day and ran in Monet (aft) from 8am-1pm I believe. I found the service quicker than in the past, but I am used to traveling with 2 large tables of 8-12, and we were only 3, so the smaller party probably improved our speed of service. One comment, we always got a drink before dinner because we found the bar service slower than we would like, but not difficult to find.

The room was above the Teen Club. I was asleep every night by 1030-11pm, except for 2 nights where we stayed up and had a few drinks on the balcony. I heard very minimal noise from below on a few occasions and only heard it with the TV off. Nothing that would require ear plugs, keep me up or wake me up. On a summer sailing with a lot of teens this could be different, but there were a decent amount of teens on the ship. We were reasonably close to the midship elevators, but heard no noise from that either. Room was clean, steward (Iwayan) was excellent, no issues.
