My wife and I are experienced cruisers with this being cruise 9 for us on Carnival. We picked this cruise because of the southern islands which you can not cruise to on Carnival from Florida. We travelled with 2 other couples from Ontario and Michigan who are also experienced cruisers. First of all this is an intense cruise with only 1 sea day with 5 stops after leaving San Juan. All these islands are unique and beautiful in their own way and the time spent in each port was about right. The staff on board this ship are excellent in what they do and the service they offer. The food in the dining room except for days 5 and 6 is excellent and I am glad they did away with the American table menu that they had last year. Choices on day 5 and 6 are lacking.1 point for example is when they offer Jumbo shrimp as an entre do not substitute very small cocktail shrimp. The 2 main shows that were put on with the dancers were excellent and well worthwhile seeing. One show with a black female singer out of Chicago who sings the classics was excellent. On our departure from St Lucia she sang from the dock as the cruise was leaving which was heart warming to all the passengers who seen this. The comedians were also well worth seeing.

Other things we found missing or not up to par from previous cruises are as follows

1/Departure terminal at San Juan. This place is run down and needs an upgrade. For anyone wishing to buy wine before going on ship buy your wine at CVS just down the street for a small fraction of the price they want at duty free in the terminal. Embarkation was efficient because of the extended boarding time since the ship did not leave till 10pm.We were on board shortly after 12 noon and had our balcony cabin by 1pm.Debarkation is also very fast once your number is called however to pick your luggage up you have to find it under a number stand in the terminal as they have no airport style conveyor system.
