I've cruised on Disney, NCL, Holland America and Celebrity cruise lines. I had high expectations for RCL. The food in the main dining room was awful. The food in the buffet was better, but hit or miss. Other than the fruit, the room service breakfast wasn't edible. The beds in our balcony cabin (8686) and the adjacent cabin (8684) had mattresses that severely sagged in the middle of each twin bed and resembled two spoons. The cabins were clean and very spacious. Every staff member we encountered was helpful and courteous. The dining room attendants and cabin steward were wonderful. I may or may not cruise on RCL again, but I definitely won't cruise on this ship again. Sadly, this was a sailing in which a person went overboard after climbing over a railing on the 12th deck and the Captain and crew were phenomenal in the way they searched for the victim and maintained communication with the remaining passengers. I've never encountered a tragedy while cruising and I hope I never do again, but this Captain deserves accolades for his professionalism and leadership in the way he accounted for everyone on board, and enlisted everyone on board to cooperate so the search had every possible chance of being a success.
