OVERALL : My cruise could not have been better! I was on the March 15, 2015 sailing from Miami to Ocho Rios, Georgetown and Cozumel. This was my first NCL cruise (I have cruised twice with Royal Caribbean and once with Carnival) and I now refuse to cruise with any other line. NCL is the ONLY way to go. I rate them a 10/10 - even though it was above and beyond great!
The Epic is fabulous ship! I was on deck 11 (studio cabin) and it was convenient to everything! I was a few doors down from the lounge which was excellent. I did not use the lounge a lot but it is a great place for refreshments (self-serve water, juice, espresso machine, milk yogurts, etc.) The studio lounge was very quiet the majority of the time. The cabin hallways and lounge is locked to solo cruisers which is a plus!
The food was AMAZING! I thought that RCCL and Carnival had great food UNTIL I cruised with NCL. Everything was freshly prepared with fresh ingredients. I loved O'Sheehans! The fish and chips were better than what I get at the local Irish pub. O'Sheehans was also my favorite breakfast stop too! Quick and fresh - 10 mins at the most from the time I sat down to get my food.
Excellent cabin and steward (Cyrus). When you open the door for the first time you think "What have I done!? This is TINY!" By the 2nd day and so on, you are thinking "This is more than enough room" and you very pleased. No issues with room, layout, or amenities. Honestly - the hair dryer onboard is better than the hairdryer I have here at home. I wish they sold them in their gift shop!
