These are just my general impressions.
Embarkation was smooth. We arrived around 12:30 and were able to get right on the ship. Our cabin was ready at 1. Thus began my only real irritation of the cruise. I had paid for a bottle of champagne, the teen celebration package, and some food items. I specifically requested that these items be in our cabin upon arrival. They were not. I had to call the dine line (difficult to get through on the first day) to ask that the items be delivered. Apparently, my request that these items be in the cabin upon embarkation was not delivered. The "teen celebration package" I got for my son consisted of a voucher that I had to take down to the shop AFTER we sailed. Upon speaking with the staff, they were completely unaware of what the package included and I had to go back up to the cabin to get the letter so they knew what the included items were. This should be standard knowledge on the part of the staff...it's a standard package fleet wide. So...basically I spent half the day the first day chasing down stuff that should have been in my cabin. Not a good way to start a vacation.
Now for the good. The ship is beautiful...so clean and sparkly and nice. I found the food, overall, to be excellent quality and I cannot say enough about the Horizon Court and Bistro. We usually sail Royal Caribbean and the buffet on Princess was miles beyond Royal Caribbean's Windjammer. The dining room food was good (watch out for the spicy dishes...good, but VERY spicy) and I have absolutely no complaints about the service.
We loved our cabin...L106 on the front of the ship. No issues with wind and an amazing balcony. Definitely feel much more motion, although it was not unbearable.
