My 14 year old daughter and I went on a cruise without my spouse (who was with her 90 year old father revisiting a World War II battleground in the Pacific.) So, for a Daddy-Daughter vacation, this was ideal.
I wasn't sure what to expect of the Liberty of the Seas, but I feared it being TOO big and TOO crowded. The ship never seemed that big at all (perhaps because it is multiple decks, rather than bigger in length) and, though we had a full ship, it never seemed that crowded. The ship was kept VERY clean, and I mean spotless. In all public spaces, and most especially the public bathrooms, there were crew working VERY hard to maintain that. THAT was impressive to me. I've been in some nasty bathrooms aboard ships, and these were wonderful.
To be honest, we were making this impulse cruise as cheaply as possible. I chose the entry-level interior stateroom, and it was perfect for the two of us. The only crowded part was the entry from the door, then the space opened up. The room had a fridge (stocked, and they charged you for what you used, but you could keep your own things there, too) and a safe. Storage seemed completely adequate for us and our two large suitcases stored easily under the beds. The beds featured memory foam tops. The bathroom had a narrow countertop, with another narrow bit of storage the length underneath that, in addition to triangle shaped shelfs. You really don't have to work out of your toilet kit if you don't want, although my daughter did hang hers off the back of the door. Shower is a tight fit. If you are a large person, you may feel uncomfortable. I joked it was like taking a shower in a large water heater, as it is round in shape. But it worked fine in practice, and, hot water was immediate and plentiful. There was a shower head on a removable handle, and of course a string to hang wet clothes on. There is a pump dispenser for shampoo, and bar soap provided, but bring any conditioner you want with you. There is a hair dryer in the room.
