As others have stated, the luggage arrangements from dropping off the bags at Gatwick to finding them outside of your cabin and same on return are excellent. The flight on a Thomson Dreamliner was OK as far as seat room, but the food was very poor and a real shame P&O cannot stretch to at the least one free drink!

We um'd and ah'd about whether to go freedom or set dining, but the second sitting table of 10 was definitely the right choice and we had great table mates.

Food was always very good, no problem with the removal of silver service, but we did miss building a rapport with the waiters who are kept very busy. Used the buffet as little as possible, much prefer to be served in the Oriental for breakfast and other restaurants for the occasional lunch or afternoon tea.

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin JC

Category was actually GC, but not listed as an option. We specifically booked R748 which is an aft facing cabin, very top left looking at the back of the ship. It is supposedly slightly smaller that side balcony cabins of the same category but we had plenty of room for the two of us and the design of bathroom and width ways open fronted wardrobe separated from the main bedroom area was very good and I see is the same on the new Britannia. The bathroom is on the small side with only a shower with curtain but it has a bowed front so you dont end up being attacked by the curtain! We booked the cabin specifically for its position and have had aft cabins before, but to be honest tended to not have the great views that we previously found. This might have been as previous aft cabin cruises tended to include busier ports so more to see, whereas the Caribbean tends to be smaller berths with the rear of the ship looking out to sea, but we were not unhappy at all and the design of the balcony gives you a slight side view as well as rearwards so a good field of vision. It is also stated as being overlooked but this is not an issue at all as its very slight. One thing I did find was that on many mornings, always at 6am so clearly on a timer, we would hear water (or some liquid!) being pumped fast through pipework. It was loud enough to wake me on quite a few mornings and lasted for about 10 minutes, but I never knew what it was and I can't say it caused any great issue but worth others being aware of.The position of the cabin means no passing people and a very easy and quick access to the rear pool area and buffet.
