My Husband and I decided to take this cruise last minute because of the itinerary, Aruba, Bonaire, Grand Turk. in 22+ cruises, we have not been to those ports. To be fair, we were on the Sunshine when it came out of refurbishment in the Mediterranean in 2013. Our first cruise cancelled, we rebooked for that August. Every port, weather etc was flawless. I am a bit partial to the Sunshine because we had such a good time, I knew what to expect. I also know that I am not going on Regent or Azamara cruise line. Being on 20+ cruises, they all somehow are the same in a way, with our perks different on each line. I expect great customer service and a clean ship.Every single person we passed that worked for Carnival would say "hello" or "good morning." The food for us is discretionary, everyone has their own tastes etc. Most people from our sailing will complain of the 60+mph winds we had that made us miss Aruba, but in spite of that, we had hot sun every single day. Yes it was a bummer, but people's lives are more important.

The port: We arrived at designated time and it was crowded, but moved quickly, check in was easy and we arrived to a very clean balcony stateroom.

The Ship: I thought it may have aged since 2013, but still looks great. The ship is spotless, yes there are weird design layouts, but they tried to fit all the upgrades into an older, smaller ship and and had to work with what they had. Was no problem for us, we were on the ship before.

Loved our room. Big, spacious, lots of closet, storage space. Our room steward was THE BEST!
