Internet on a cruise ship stinks. But, then why am I surfing the Internet while on a cruise ship? On the first day of our Carnival cruise along Baja California I saw many such addicted phone users trying to access their technology. On day two, many more of us were relaxing into the motion of the ocean and putting our tech aside. I mean, we were on vacation after all!

There certainly was no lack of things to do to entertain us while on our five day cruise out of Long Beach, California. The good ship Imagination, one of Carnival's smaller vessels, offered much big ship fun with a small community feel. The staff was attentive, helpful, and interactive with the guests. So much so that it was hard to part with them after the last evening’s lovely and lively dining affair. If I were to give this cruise a higher rank previous cruises we've been on, it would be due to amazing staff. And, I love to support a business that provides excellent employment to such a diverse staff who otherwise might not enjoy such a good lifestyle in their developing countries.

We enjoyed putt putt golf, shuffleboard, and shore excursions at Catalina Island and Ensenada, Mexico. Although others make excursion arrangements directly with onshore vendors, we choose the convenience of using ship services to make reservations. The additional cost is worth the peace of mind, knowing we are handled professionally at every step in unfamiliar territory.
