The ports we visited were wonderful - embarked in Barcelona, Morocco, Funchal, Portugal, two stops in the Canary Islands and then Malaga. The weather in February was on the cooler side so use of many of the outdoor areas was impossible for most of the cruise. This ship is older and does not have enough inside places to accommodate this cooler weather.

We were three adults in a balcony cabin and the cabin was unacceptable. My mother traveling with us is a premier member with Royal Caribbean and complained. She is 87 years old and has some very mild dementia. Midway through the cruise, they offered another separate room with the only option of my adult daughter moving into it. We were traveling together and really did not want to separate. When the third bed was opened, you could not access the balcony nor sit at the desk. The cabin is small enough for two people and much smaller than the room on the newer ships.

There were many last minute discount cruisers on board and not sure if that is what made the difference. It was impossible to order a drink in any of the lounges and took forever. The service in the Windows dining room was terrible and we stopped eating there after the 2nd night. The garden dining room was much better. The food in the dining rooms was very good. They would run out of items on the buffet and would not replenish. You would have to ask for them. One of my travel companions ordered a brand chardonnay. They would charge for the brand she ordered and then serve her either another chardonnay or a sauvignon blanc without telling her. They had the chardonnay but would have had to go to another location to get it. This happened throughout the cruise in lounges and dining rooms and she had to complain multiple times. In one instance, she asked to see the bottle and they refused. I asked for a drink with more soda in a tall glass. Only once did a server suggest he bring me the can. Most of the other times, they just said they couldn't or brought me the standard size glass. I would have paid more for the drink if that would have been an option. We did not find the staff accommodating at all with the exception of the Garden dining room and our room steward.

Mid-Ship Balcony

Cabin BB

Cabin was very small even for two people by today's standards and other newer ships.
