embarkation was no problem, they got that figured out. the ship, though old was in excellent condition, clean and well mantained. the comedian was good, the shows were tipicle of a cruise ship . casino was fair and in good shape. BUT , the FOOD was embarrassing .. royals food used to be a step up which justified there higher price. NOT ANY MORE. the food at the windjammer was sub par. limited choices, terrible ,cheap, cold ,tasteless.not a shrimp in sight, the whole trip..i could not find a chocolate chip cookie. anywhere.Royal always had self serve chocolate milk at the windjammer buffet, Not any more. you had to ask, 3 different people ,and end up with nothing. "sorry sir ,we just ran out " .. shrimp cocktail was on the menu in the dining room , but waiter said none tonight, they will have tomorrow. tomorrow came and shrimp cocktail is not on the menu. but the waiter was suddenly able to get it for me. meanwhile we did not stop at any port. that was the only shrimp i had during my trip. Room Service, allow 1 HOUR there were times throughout the day were the only food was the cheapest ,chewiest, disgusting pizza. The only thing i had seconds of was the soft serve ice cream by the pool .
my other problem was COCO CAY .. it must be closed for the month of febuary. it is a big secret until 9 am the morning your supposed to b there that it is unsafe to go there .. apparently the boat has not stopped there all month.
Besides the terrible food and the big COCO CAY secret , it was ok.
room was clean and small , enough room for two , what i expected, no complaints.. if you get a window on deck 7 you are wasting your money. it is the jogging deck and you will have constant traffic looking in your window.. if you are a smoker ,this is the best deck for you , easy access to the outside.
