We arrived at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal around 11AM. We were through security and off to the suite check-in in a matter of minutes. We were in the Concierge Lounge before we knew it. It was probably around noon until we started boarding the Norwegian Gem. The two girls traveling with us boarded with us but headed to the Garden Buffet for lunch since they were only in a mini-suite. DH and I had lunch at Cagney’s and then met back up with the girls. We were all invited to the Garden Villa for sail away and couldn’t wait to do the muster drill so we could get the party started. Thanks Andrea and Harold! As we were getting ready to leave the harbor the ship suddenly slowed almost to a stop. One of the passengers evidently fell down the steps and needed to be disembarked. We saw the boat draw near to the Gem but could not see the action because the roof below the Garden Villa blocked our view. Andrea did post a photo of all of us on a social media website so everyone would know we were all okay. At this point we did not know any details. Hopefully the passenger is okay.

We had three sea days on our way to San Juan, Puerto Rico. We had the Cruise Critic Meet and Greet I coordinated on the first sea day followed by a slot pull. Approximately 70 people out of the 89 that were signed up showed up for the Meet and Greet. We had a great group. We had 43 signed up for the slot pull and 44 actually participated. We had fun for about an hour and ended up with our money back except for the side bet that was won by the person that pulled the highest total. We had such fun that we decided to schedule a second slot pull for the 2nd to last sea day. Anyone that wanted to play just showed up on Saturday at 2PM. Fourteen of us showed up and we played until we donated all our money except the side bet to the casino. Another of the three Peggy’s won the side bet this time! Yea Peggy! It was cool actually having three Peggy‘s for a change. I am usually the only one.

The next sea day we had the cabin crawl. We had a total of 8 cabins to visit ranging from an inside to the SF and SE Penthouses. It was interesting to see a hull balcony for the first time.
