I had been meaning to travel with Hurtigruten for some time and wanted to visit Norway in winter, having been in summer several times. Being on the Nordnorge felt like being part of a small community. The staff were really friendly and the food excellent. I don't eat meat and was offered fish or vegetarian options. The staff seemed genuinely interested to hear if I liked the choice. The buffet at breakfast and lunch was really good too. I just loved seeing the cargo load and unload and wave to the other Hurtigruten ships as they passed. I wanted a lazy holiday due to having a really busy job and the lack of onboard entertainment and short hop passengers sleeping in the bar which other reviewers have moaned about were just part of the sea voyage experience and a plus for me. We had storms and rain but these were not the fault of Hurtigruten! We also had some wonderful sunny days and snow too. Just great. I will be back. If, like me, you love the idea of sea travel but hate idea of a 'ballgowns at dawn' cruise this is the ship for you.

Cabin Review

Cabin N

Really nice cabin with one fold down bed and one bed which turned into a sofa during the day. There was loads of hanging space. The bathroom was small but very cleverly designed to optimise the space. The shower was perfect!
