This was our first cruise on Princess. We've been on Disney (x4), Celebrity, Holland, NCL and Carnival. Specifically, we've been on Disney's best (Fantasy) and Carnival's oldest and smallest (Fantasy) and will compare Caribbean Princess to those. Nothing that Princess did was better than any of the other cruises we've gone on. Nothing was bad or worth complaining about but it just did not "wow" us in any area. The rooms were very well laid out (we had an inside cabin) and we loved the big closet / storage area outside the bathroom. The room steward was great. The dining staff that we dealt with were all there to do their job (bring us food) and nothing more. No one made a personal connection (never used our names, made small talk or remembered any dining preferences). This was not a problem, but just different from all other cruises. The food was good (except the scrambled eggs in the buffet - no one in our large group liked them) but I've had better food on other cruises for sure. The ship was decently clean with the exception of one very noticeable area... the walkway glass up to Skywalker's Lounge was either filthy or badly stained. This view could have/should have been amazing but was tarnished. I never witness any cleaning going on in 4 days. On Disney, they cleaned 24/7 and you would never have spotted an area look dingy for days. The ship was nicely decorated for Christmas. The port was great. Embarkation and Debarkation were painless. The shops and entertainment were typical and pleasant. My favorite part was the Piano Man show!! That was fantastic! I would sail on Princess again if the price was right.
