This was our second cruise on this itinerary, but our first on the Crown Princess. We booked a mini-suite, and were in cabin 110 on the Dolphin Deck. We found the boarding process in Long Beach to be a bit more cumbersome than our December cruise out of Fort Lauderdale, but when we boarded our stateroom was ready so we went there first to drop off our carry-ons. Upon using the bathroom in our cabin we discovered that the water from the bathroom faucets was brown. We notified our cabin steward, who told us they were doing some maintenance. The following morning we had the same problem with the water and reported it to passenger services. We informed them that we would be using the bottled water provided in the fridge (usually $3.50) so that we could brush our teeth, etc. and we did not expect to be charged. We never got an explanation as to why the water was brown, but we were also very careful to run the water for a while before using it and NEVER drank it!
We found the dining staff in the Michelangelo Dining Room ot be most accomodating, with the head waiter, Alfredo, taking charge of my dining experience and ensuring that I was served gluten free bread and a special gluten free dessert each night. Each evening he provided he with the menu for the following night so that I could pre-order my meal. After the first night he even remembered our cabin number.
The entertainment was excellent, with the exception of the Elton John tribute, which we walked out of during the second song because it was so bad!
This was a very nice mini-suite, but it's a long way from everything. That also means it's quiet. The laundromat is almost all the way aft, if you're doing laundry it's closer to go to the Emerald deck, where it's at the front of the ship.
