Second time sailing the Dawn, the first being out of Boston to Bermuda. Whole new crew. Really appreciated the new Cruise Director, Hotel Director and Concierge.
There are no cons to this sailing except for boarding. The port of New Orleans is confusing. The taxi drivers can not let you out in front of the entrance, and walking across railroad tracks with luggage was challenging. Once we did get out luggage checked, check in was easy and we were on the ship within the hour. The rooms were ready, but we chose to get some lunch before proceeding to our room.
Being in an owner's suite, we are allowed breakfast and lunch at Cagney's. The menu did not change from the last time (May 2014) and it would have been nice to see more options.
Great room with two balconies. It was nice having the second half bath. Storage is limited to 4 drawers in the closet and a drawer in each of the nightstands. Never took advantage of the jetted tub, but it did look like it would have been very nice. The shower with 4 heads is the best. It feels like walking in a carwash! Room steward did a great job keeping it clean. Nice amenities with soft drinks, 3 bottles of alcohol, Lavazzo machine with choice of coffees/teas and mid-day snacks all kept replenished by Achmed.
