My husband and I went our first honeymoon for our 10 year wedding anniversary. We had an absolute blast. The cast and crew were amazing, the ports were beautiful, the weather was perfect, and the captain was a Bad***. I've been on cruises before where we missed ports because of the weather or the seas. We made all of ours, even though other ships missed out on several with similar routes within the same week. We were the only ship to make it to Costa Maya March 8 when there were 4 that were supposed to dock. They missed because of "weather," but there was hardly a cloud in the sky while we were there. The "freestyle" way of dining was the absolute way to go. My husband is one that likes to take his time and take it easy. I'm one that likes to go and experience as much as possible. This would not have been an enjoyable trip if I had to be stressed the entire time about dragging him to make it on time to dinner, etc. We enjoyed so much together and separately. Gabi was the one of the staff that packed a big punch and kept the party going, she even made a special moment happen for my husband and I playing our song for our anniversary. V made the entire time on the boat fun- bringing us dancing and so many laughs, he was a fave. Kyle the bartender was probably our favorite. We had the ultimate drink package and he put up with so much as a result, lol, and gave excellent service the entire time. Oh- PS! GET THE ULTIMATE ADULT BEVERAGE PACKAGE! We booked during a time that we both received it free with an upgrade to our room, but I would definitely purchase it even if it were not promotional. Bismark was our steward and he was awesome. The entire staff was so friendly and they really made the trip. The only regrets I have is that a.) we didn't see any of the musical shows (I know, shameface) but come on, there was so much to do and we were* honeymooners. b.) We didn't budget to tip these awesome people more, especially the shore excursion guides. Roatan, Honduras was a wake-up call in how privileged we all are. It turns out that 70% of the real natives are not allowed to go anywhere near the tourist portion, 70% are also unemployed and the majority of those homeless as a result. The great big buildings you see as soon as you get off all pump money back into the cruiselines, so bypass those and boost the economy of the locals. We went to West Bay and did the Kayak and Snorkeling. We made sure to book through NCL for this port as the crime is so high for Honduras proper and I was paranoid. The tour guides kept us safe while still being very honest with us. I wish I had budgeted to tip these guys so much more, they were awesome. Belize was great too! We did the River Safari and Lamanai ruins tour. I had read all of the reviews and knew what to expect. The sights, the food, the education, was all so awesome! However, some people had not done their homework and did not know what to expect, and they didn't realize that they were in Central America headed to the jungle close to the equator so they proceeded to whine about the mediocre air conditioning on the bus. COME ON! Look out the window and take in the sights and be grateful for what you have and what you are doing!!! We had over committed with the shore excursions and we were just plain too tuckered out to make the Mayan ruin excursion in Costa Maya. But we explored and had a great time! Cozumel was so much fun too, but we made sure to go somewhere private where we had the whole beach to ourselves because it is definitely the touristiest of the touriesty. But the natural landscapes and crystal waters are unbelievable. On the boat there was so much to do and we enjoyed every second. The main dining room food wasn't the best I had ever tasted, but I have a snobby pallet and it's complimentary, come on! The specialty restaurants were some of the best I've ever had and one day a Thai inspired complimentary buffet just blew my mind. The cabin was not too small and the picture window gave us great views. I will spring for the balcony next time, I think. I don't know how the people with kids felt about it because I found myself thanking God several times I had not brought them, because I'm so anxious with them there. The majority of the cast and crew went above and beyond to make everything amazing. There was the exception of a few rude or snotty ones here and there but I would not group them in with the rest. Because I kept hearing guests bicker and whine about nit-picky thing and be jerks here and there and I would not want to be grouped in with them just the same, because we were very pleased. Oh, and be ware of spring breakers! We only had a tiny group that were fellow guests, because it was early in the spring for them, but they got into plenty of trouble- jumping off port docks, walking out on checks at Senior Frogs, fist-fighting on Tender boats, and vomiting at dinner. The crew always handled it very well, and it's no fault of the ship's that someone didn't raise them right.

Cabin Review

Not too small. Position on the ship made it easy to deal with any rocking. Bismark our steward was great and we probably drove him crazy. We had a nice little tucked away hall that was hard to find and even hard for one of the new crew members to locate, but this made for privacy. It wasn't easy to get our luggage out of here, however because it's only accessible by a small flight of stairs. The couch/pullout? in the room looked pretty dingy and sketchy, we just used it to hold our luggage. The linens and mattress were like heaven. Bring clothes pins to weigh down the shower-curtain because it can cling to you in a very annoying fashion and a long shower in the bathroom can be quite suffocating. But again, after seeing so much poverty in Roatan, I feel really crappy complaining about clean, hot water.
