My husband and I sailed on the Norwegian Star on the February 16, 2015 Panama Canal cruise from Miami to L.A. in forward facing Penthouse Suite 10002. As we had hoped, it turned out to be an incredible trip we will never forget. Previously, we have sailed on 6+ Carnival Cruises, 3 Disney Cruises (Magic, Dream, Fantasy), and now this was our second voyage on the Norwegian Star, having sailed her from L.A. to Vancouver in 2009 on an LA->Alaska->Vancouver repositioning. She was a perfect ship again, and just the right size for this voyage.

Since our last visit, she had been retrofitted with the major changes being the moving of the Spinnaker Lounge to the back of the ship, the relocation of the shop(s) to the center of the ship, the elimination of the small movie theatre , elimination of several meeting rooms, and the addition of the Moderno restaurant. When our cruise ended on March 1st, she headed to Oregon for her next retrofit which will include moving the Moderno restaurant to be right across from Cagney’s, adding the Oceanic dining area where Moderno was, re-decoration of the Grand Atrium, upgrade of the photography center, and numerous other upgrades throughout the ship, some of which began during our journey (for example, the Stardust Theater seats were all replaced at night a few seats at a time).

The service was great from start to finish. Being in a suite afforded us many benefits and amenities such as priority boarding, priority disembarkation, a Butler, a Concierge, daily breakfast and lunch in Cagney’s, daily sandwiches, fruits, and canapés delivered to our room, an in room coffee/espresso machine, etc., etc. all well worth it.

They were AWESOME beyond words, always going way above and beyond their responsibilities, going the extra mile taking special care of us.
