There is no doubt that the MSC Divina is a gorgeous ship, and when you first board and go exploring, almost every public space deserves a "wow", even though some of the layout makes it difficult at times to find things. We were looking for a games room, not video games, but a card-game room with proper card-playing tables-they either didn't have one at all, or we never managed to find it, even after being directed to the 15th floor numerous times. Such a big ship, would have been nice to have a quiet place to play card games and maybe find some other players.

FOOD:

The buffet area is very large, and you could always find a table but you needed to keep walking to the very back when it's crowded to find an empty table. Choices were adequate, but again need to tour the entire buffet to see what's available, as certain items were on one side and not the other. We found that "hot" items were only barely warm. I'm not a pizza fan, but most people raved about it. Pizza is made fresh right there at the buffet, with usually 4 different types to choose from. Toppings are not plentiful, but it's thin crust european style. We saw so many examples of greed and waste from the passengers--people would load up their plates (BTW they provide plates that are closer to the size and shape of a family platter), and then eat a few items and just leave the rest. This made me angry.

Cabin Review

Cabin 9

Cabin was smaller than expected. Entry way was very narrow and difficult to get our luggage through. Bathroom is also very tight, but was clean. Carpet in room was not that clean, as we could see crumbs and lint left behind from previous occupants. Vacuuming is not very thorough. Balcony is also small, and there are only 2 regular chairs and one footstool, no folding lounge chairs so you can't really lie down and sun here. Bed was in dire need of rotation, as the head area was clearly lower than the foot area. There is a pillow-top pad on the mattress, but it's not physically attached to the mattress. This is in need of replacement, as it's very worn and flattened out. Shower leaks onto the floor, so your bathmat will get soaked every time. Our cabin steward was never seen once, and his service was hit and miss - very disappointing service in this area.
