Embarkation was quick, we were dining in the Rembrandt restaurant by noon. First time HAL guests ate at the Lido buffet, We had dropped off our carry on luggage before lunch and were pleasantly surprised to see all of our luggage had been delivered outside our room when we returned. Gave us time to unpack before the 3:00 muster drill (no need to take life vests). After about 20 minutes for the drill, we proceeded to the Sea View bar on the Lido deck to meet up with other Cruise Critic members. Everyone was in a good mood - mostly because they were no longer in the deep freeze which they had just left. It was fun and relaxing to start off our glorious week. We had early seating (5:30) for dinner and everything was wonderful from the good food to the excellent wait staff. No long wait, many times the first course was served before our beverage order. After dinner we chose to settle in early. First night on a cruise is an early bed time for us. The next morning we had room service deliver coffee and continental breakfast. In fact, I had it each morning as I MUST have my coffee before dressing, make-up and hair fixing. Our official "meet & greet" was scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at the Crow's nest (very top front). HAL had 4 officers there to welcome us plus beverages and cookies. We had about 25 in attendance and everyone had a nice time meeting and greeting. I know from talking to others here and there throughout the week that many made good friendships ad agreed to meet on future cruises. We actually met up with a gal from a previous cruise. Again, we decided to cruise together again. The Eurodam is a very nice ship. The staff does an excellent job at keeping her in tip-top shape. LADIES: If you decide to have your hair done, ask for Tayyibah. She will give you the best head massage and fix your hair even better than you imagined it could look. She speaks good English and will not push you about purchasing products. The cost is $35.00.

Superior Verandah Suite

Cabin SS

We were pleasantly surprised to be in the last signature suite next to the elevators, which are glass and are actually on the outside of the ship. We had a quiet room and never heard any noise, so sleep was ideal. The beds are awesome, we were asleep moments after our heads hit the pillow. Lots of room for clothing and regular hangers (not those with a notch that hooks into the base). Double sinks and a shower and a hot tub with another shower in the large bathroom. Ask for this room, it's in the center of the ship.
