We left Fort Lauderdale Feb 16/15 for 11 nights on the Legend of the Seas! I was a little concerned when I started reading posts before our departure about this ship getting "old" but once aboard all concerns vanished! Yes, she is showing her age but it just didn't matter! She may not have all the bells and whistles of the newer state of the art ships but oh my what a wonderful time we had! The itinerary was awesome (Aruba, Bonaire, Grenada, Barbados, St Lucia and Antigua) and we enjoyed every minute of our cruising days as well. So much to do! Or so little to do .. lounging by the pool was so relaxing :) The Cruise Director, Rod, was very involved and made every effort for everyone to have a great time! The dinners were delicious and the wait staff were terrific! Our room steward couldn't have been better! My only "complaint" was that I found the pool bar and one or two of the others seemed under-staffed. The pool bar after 11 a.m. should be well staffed and it wasn't. I heard people (even a couple of crew members)talk of cut-backs and that would be a shame as one of the great things about cruising with Royal Caribbean is the fantastic service! Since we aren't big drinkers it wasn't a huge issue but when I went up to get a drink (more often a diet coke) I found myself waiting and actually gave up a few times and went back later. Again, not a big complaint but wanted to mention it. We LOVED this 11 night cruise ... and booked a 12 night one before we disembarked! I would certainly recommend sailing on Legend .... just sit back and enjoy!
Cabin was roomy and clean! Love all the little storage places for all our "stuff"! We love having the balcony to enjoy in the morning and evening.
