Sail Date: Jan 2015

We took Silversea’s 16-day Silver Shadow cruise from Valparaiso to Buenos Aires, January 25, 2015. With the exceptions listed below, it was a very enjoyable trip to a little travelled, rural part of the world. Having taken an exceptional Seabourn Baltic cruise last year, we wanted to try Silversea. We’ll be returning to Seabourn.

Service in the three restaurants was quick, cheerful and courteous. Food quality was average and the quality of the pastries was quite poor. Perhaps the pastry chef got off in Valparaiso and never came back. Food pairings were uninspired.

On a rainbow of hamburger possibilities where the PJ Clark burger is the best at a “10” the Silversea burger is a “3”. However, if the waiter gets to know you, over time you will receive sufficient catsup to mask the taste nicely.

Cabin Review

Other than the ancient TV, the suite and suite service was excellent.
