Sail Date: Feb 2015

My friend and I sailed the Sunshine February 7-15, 2015 and we'd do it again in an minute.

We arrived at the port around 2:45pm due to our flight being late but Carnival got us from the Orlando airport to Port Canaveral in no time, we boarded with no line-ups and were in our cabin within 30 minutes. Luggage arrived 30 minutes later, so we were unpacked and on deck by the time we sailed. Kadak was our room steward and he was amazing. We choose and inside cabin 9129. Our room was always clean and tidy. Kadak used our names from day 1, how he could remember all of those names I have no idea but he did. We'd go out to breakfast and come back 45 minutes later and the room had been cleaned and the same at dinnertime.

Carnival did a great job with the refurbishing of the "Destiny". We were in one of the cabins on deck 9 that was added during the renovations and I loved it, same square footage but almost square and seemed a lot bigger than your normal inside cabin. This was my 10 cruise (all with Carnival) and I must say they do an amazing job of keeping their guests comfortable and happy. Though they increased the passenger capacity of the ship it doesn't seem any more crowded than any other Carnival ship I've been on. There are always line-ups but that is to be expected. The staff work very hard, tables on the Lido deck, Market Place and Havana Bar were always cleared quickly so other guests didn't have to wait for a place to sit and enjoy their meal. Anyone that complains about line-up or not having a place to sit were just looking for a reason to be miserable, they should remember they are on vacation and in no great hurry, relax and enjoy. The Lido deck was the centre of attention, deck chairs full with people having a good time. No matter what time we decided to find a chair on sea days were always successful, there were only 2 of us so not too much trouble, I once saw a group of 10 people look for chairs together (are you kidding me) and were complaining they weren't having any luck.. Serenity (adults only) area was often busy as well but after a few times of circling the area we'd find a couple of chairs or a clam shell to relax in.

Cabin Review

Deck 9 (Lido deck) is an awesome place to stay, close to everything and not too far to go out for a smoke.
