Please keep in mind when reading this review that I don't go on cruises to party or try to take advantage of everything a cruise has to offer, but rather to enjoy being with my wife and friends and to try to have a relaxing vacation. I'll only mention activities and places we experienced and hope I can give some helpful insight to someone.

This was our 5th NCL cruise doing 3 on the Star and 1 on the Sun. So the Getaway was a much larger ship with almost twice the people than we were used to. But other than at embarkation and at the safety drill did I really notice there were a greater number of people. The ship obviously was much bigger, but the size wasn't a problem either. However, combining the two and trying to have something for everyone to do at almost every minute, scheduling did present a problem for us. You definitely wanted to make reservations for the activities you just had to do, but some of the other activities were tough to fully enjoy because of being worried about getting to and getting a seat at the next activity, especially those held in the Atrium.

Food: Overall pretty good. Buffet was good with nice variety and adequate seating and we ate most of our meals there. The Tropicana, Savor and Taste each had the same daily menu - Tropicana was nice with great service. Savor and Taste had slower service. O'Sheehans was really convenient with excellent food. We didn't try any of the specialty restaurants, although I heard Cagney's was excellent.
