Looking for a good deal on a sunny getaway from a very cold Canadian winter, this year we chose the 6 night Eastern Caribbean cruise on Carnival Breeze. Having sailed on her sister, Dream, a few years ago, we were looking forward to enjoying the amenities on the Breeze. We were not disappointed. Even though we are not part of the 30-something, get-up-and-start-partying crowd that seems ubiquitous on Carnival ships, we still enjoyed the fun atmosphere and the many recreational aspects of the ship - the gym, the outdoor sports track and exercise area, the water slides and the suspended skytrack obstacle course. From a more traditional standpoint, we were very impressed by the staff on Breeze, from the high energy cruise director, Matt Mitchum (probably the best we have ever seen in over 12 years of cruising!) to the excellent dining room staff and cabin stewards. The food was very good with relatively few misses which were immediately corrected, and we continue to love the fact that Carnival offers one of their specialty restaurants for lunch dining at no extra charge. The leisurely tour from Miami to Ocho Rios, to Grand Turk and on to Nassau before returning to Florida was a real delight, with just the right mix of sea days and layback ports of call that did not demand early morning rushes to the Lido for hurried breakfast. All in all, fantastic value-for-money, which is why we have kept going back to Carnival, even though we have tried just about every other cruise line. Thanks Carnival, and special thanks to the whole Breeze team for a great week away from the snow!

Cabin Review

Cove Balcony

Cabin 7C

Some people would view the Cove balcony as a cheap attempt to get your away from an oceanview, but do not believe it! These are really nice staterooms, with the added amenity of a private balcony nicely situated on Deck 2, close the the Lobby and Mezzanine deck activities, restaurants and bars. The slightly enclosed balcony gave us great views with sufficient room for some outdoor quiet time away from the bustle of the Lido. Great value, so don't miss the chance to try one when the opportunity arises.
