Just returned from my 20th or so cruise (lost count really). We selected Carnival again as we always get a good cruise at a low price (compared to RCCL, Norwegan etc,). The food was very good, not exceptional... but very good.......much better than the food I would have eaten at home. The service however was exceptional on this cruise. I only have a few items needing improvement. The first is the I could not get the unlimited drink program because my wife does not drink.....never has and never will. I can see why you make everyone in the same cabin get this program.......it is a sad inconvienience for me. I am now a platimum member of Carnival so lets review this program requirements, as it is not truely unlimited and has a limit per day. My other comment is the Carnival excursions, which are priced much too high. We booked all our excursions ourselves and we had an A+ score. The Comic entertainment was great but the other shows were sadly lacking and appear to be the same shows from many years past. We also miss NOT having Bands playing outside, as they have been replaced with a DJ (NOT the same experience).

Overall we had an outstanding time. everything cannot be "perfect" when your are cruising in the middle of the Carribean Sea. Before every cruise I read other reviews, which are often unfairly critical as one must take the total cruise experience into account and not focus on the minor issues which will occur over a weeks time. Carnival has again won my repeat Business for the next cruise.

I booked this cruise almost a year ago and booked at Interior Room (lower $$). I planned to upgrade the room to balcony before the cruise, but the cruise filled up due to the cold weather and I was locked-in. Next time I will go Balcony even though I sleep better in a dark interior room.
