Traveled with children

We selected this ship (it was narrowed down to 3) based on the activities that were available for our young children, since this was a family vacation. There were 7 of us travelling.

The number one thing that drew us to this ship was the childrens spongebob themed kids splash pool. Knowing we would be at sea for at least 6 solid days of the 12 day cruise, being in the Caribbean, I knew the pool would be where we would spend most of our time. Not on this ship. They closed the pool down for 11 days of the cruise (the kids had 1 day to swim). They could have drained one of the other pools to accommodate the children on this ship. Nothing was done to accommodate all of the young children that were cruising.

Insiders who work on the ship enlightened us that the following week, they had 1600+ kids onboard, so they did some repairs and re-painted to get it ready. Is that acceptable? I paid a lot of money for this cruise because of that number 1 reason! I would have went on a shorter cruise had we known we would be at sea with no pool for my young children and would have spent a lot less money. This was my 6th cruise (different cruise lines) and it was not high on my list as far as meeting my expectations.
