This was our first time on the Oriana and, after reading some of the less positive reviews, we wondered if we'd made the right choice. Not to worry, at least where the condition of the ship was concerned: it was tastefully designed, spotless throughout and easy to find one's way around.

Embarkation was handled well, though the initial roll call and emergency drill, in a packed lounge, took too long; some of the older passengers (there were lots of them) were clearly uncomfortable by the end.

As we didn't bother with the shows and much of the other entertainment, I can't usefully comment on them; however, most of the other passengers seemed quite pleased with what they'd seen. We gave up on the cinema after two terrible films but, again, that was a matter of taste; the cinema (Chaplins, the only one of two available that we visited) was itself large and comfortable.

Outside Twin with Window

Cabin LB

Excellent. Perhaps a little smaller than those on some other cruise lines, but still clean, well-designed, pleasant and equipped with good shower, lovely fluffy towels, flat screen television, comfortable bed and adequate cupboard and drawers space (though, like some other reviewers, we did find the layout of the coat hangers a bit annoying).
