The embarkation process was quick, efficient and seamless and in general the ship was clean. However some areas of the ship were scruffy and in need of attention. Additionally, we have never seen as much litter lying around several parts of the ship, which really surprised us. We had a balcony on A deck (14), and it was good as you would expect. It contained everything you might need including a hair drier, tea making facilities and tv with sky news and sky sports news for those who want to keep in touch with home.

The food was good, but you will need to ask for a bigger portion if you have a good appetite, but the service in the main restaurant was slow, not least because of a new system and the waiter having about 30% more tables to cover. It should get worse because they are getting rid of the wine waiter and this job will also be done by the waiter.

This may be one of the reasons that a lot of the staff seemed unhappy and had a very unusual indifferent attitude to customers, which took the shine off the cruise to some extent.
