Sail Date: Feb 2015

After an exceptional cruise on the Carnival Sensation in 2012, we bought along our 23 year old daughter and her partner for a cruise on the Carnival Pride. The day after leaving, we hit rough seas and high winds that lasted the rest of the trip. Certainly don't want to blame Carnival for the weather; however our rooms up front (6115 and 6117) felt like a cork bobbing nonstop in the ocean. It was so bad that for 2 nights we crawled into cabanas on the Serenity deck at the back of the ship to go to sleep.

The port call at Belize was cancelled and we spent the day aimlessly wandering through the Caribbean, bobbing up and down. The next day we pulled into Costa Maya only to leave right away because ocean swells made it unsafe to disembark. That was hard to take, as 2 other ships had pulled in and were disembarking without any problems.

Food services had it's good points and bad. Guy's burgers was great. So was the taco counter. The dining room had excellent food but you could feel the movement from the rough seas a little too much to make the meal enjoyable. The main restaurants on the Lido deck were substandard, however. Greasy meals and constant lineups were common.

Cabin Review

We had problems with the a/c in 6117. It was stuck on full blast for the whole trip, making the room like a refrigerator. Despite 4 requests, it was never properly fixed.
