I sailed the Valor on March 18, 2007. There were 4 of us in our 50's. I had been told that you could board at 10. I was there at 9:45A.M. and was given my sail and sign card and ushered to another room where we stood till about 10:30. Then we went through security and to another room where we were seated and waited on them to call our number, being one of the first we went first. This was about 11:00. We went to the lido deck and had lunch and were able to get to our room at about 1:00. I found the ship to be tacky, (in my opinion). We met our room steward right off, and he was funny and did a great job. Our room was clean, we had robes, and shampoo and soap dispensers, and hair dryer. He kept our cooler iced. We take our own cokes and water. The ship: It's layout is quiet different than the spirit class. I had a hard time maneuvering around it. I was on the empress deck aft. To get to the other end of the ship, you can't just walk straight through. You have to go down then back up. Really weird. I just didn't like the ship.

Dinner: We had dinner in the Washington dining room. Lower level. Very claustrophobic. Our waitresses were not very good. We drink a lot of ice tea, and couldn't get it. Asked for butter, did not get it. The waitresses seem overworked and very rushed, quiet and not friendly as on other carnival cruises. We went twice to dinner in the dining room and didn't go back. I have always used the dining room and always looked forward to the atmosphere, but it just wasn't there, so we used the Lido buffet the rest of the cruise. The food was great everywhere we ate. But dining room, VERY disappointing.

Ports of Call: I love them all, except Grand Cayman. Grand Cayman's people are not friendly and seem to hate the fact that we are there. I wish Carnival would cut them out for a while. I go there on every cruise and every time its the same. We caught a cab to seven mile beach. Beautiful. snorkeling there is good, water is blue, sand is white. Drinks, expensive. A beer and a margarita $17. Caught a bus back, the bus driver was rude with some of the other passengers. $4 PP each way.
