Cabin: Grand Suite with Balcony

For my wife and I, this was our second cruise in as many years. Our first cruise was on Celebrity Silhouette. So we will share some comparisons. This cruise was for the Eastern Caribbean on Oasis of the Seas, staying in a Grand Suite (cabin 12254). Overall we had a wonderful time.

We flew to Ft. Lauderdale the day before and stayed at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort and Spa. The hotel was very nice and was close to the cruise terminal. We used Marriott points, so cannot comment on the value for the money.

We took a cab to the terminal around 11am. This particular side of the terminal was very congested at this time and took about 20 minutes to get through the line of cars past the gate.

Cabin Review

Grand Suite with Balcony

Cabin GS

The Grand Suite was very nice. It compared well to Celebrity’s Sky Suite with some key differences. Both were of similar sizes. The Sky Suite has more luxurious appointments than the Grand Suite, but the Grand Suite was more functional with more storage and a much larger bathroom. The Sky Suite came with Butler Service – which is essentially a private concierge. Oasis comes with two Concierges shared between all the suites. If found that both worked just as well. The Suites also come with some additional perks on Oasis that we found very beneficial given the size of the ship.
