This was our first time sailing out of Houston Texas. You actually embark at Bayport Terminal in La Porte Texas, about 30 miles South of Houston. We stayed in Seabrook Texas, about a 10 minute drive to the port. We found the Bayport Terminal to be easy to get into and out. On the day of embarkation we arrive about 11:00 am and got right into the terminal. At 11:30 am they started boarding and by 11:45 am we were on board the Emerald Princess.

While the Emerald was showing some signs of needing some updates, I would say the staff was friendly, helpful and they did keep the Emerald looking good. Lot's of crew keeping things cleaned up and making sure we were being taken care of.

Shows were "Fair" and not of the same quality of other shows I've seen on Princess ships. All worth going too, just seems like they were not as well choreographed as others we've seen. A comedy show with two black comedians is a must see, it is very funny.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BB

This cabin is on the back Port side of the ship. The Caribe deck is nice as the balcony is half covered and half open. Cabin was fine, typical balcony cabin and only a few cabins from the elevator making it nice to make a quick run up in the morning to Horizon Court to grab some quick things to bring back to the room, if of course you do not use room service. We found the cabin neat, clean and everything working.
