The largeness and grandeur of the NCL Breakaway was at times, difficult to realize. For all its size, the ship appeared to have limited roaming space compared to smaller ships. There was limited seating "nooks and crannies" in out of the way, removed from traffic areas. Perhaps this was only my perception. I expected the increased number of passengers would create long lines for general services (food, shows events, etc), but was pleasantly surprised that lines were limited. The on-board reservation system was initially confusing. However, the need to make such reservations took the spontaneity out of free style cruising.
Our inside stateroom appeared slightly smaller than used to and the lack of adequate stowaway was challenging. But our expectations were minimal as we decided at the last minute to book the cruise. If you are a light sleeper you will want to avoid this room. I believe it is located forward, below the stage. Oh. and the showers are great. No more cubicle curtains . The water pressure was great.
We spend minimal time in the cabin. It's the common areas and facilities that interest us most. Exploring the ship is what we do.
