This was our first cruise, selected almost accidentally. I was slightly nervous about it, having read previous reviews which were not particularly complimentary. I must say that we were pleasantly surprised - the Majesty is not a huge ship, which we quite liked as it was reasonably easy to find our way around and we soon discovered where our favourite bar was! Some areas could have done with a bit of refurbishment but everywhere was kept spotlessly clean and I was particularly impressed by the hand sanitisation process before entering the ship or any of its restaurant areas - also that all handrails were wiped with disinfectant regularly throughout the day. The staff are incredibly well trained and scrupulously polite and helpful - and, my goodness, do they work hard! Our cabin was spacious with more storage space than we needed - but we had upgraded to a larger outside one.
We ate once in Le Bistro (the a la carte) restaurant, which was excellent and well worth the £20 surcharge. The food in the remaining restaurants was variable in quality, although always hot and plentiful. I particularly liked the 'egg station' where you could order a freshly made omelette or eggs benedict. The range of items for breakfast was quite incredible. My only real gripe was the coffee available from the machines - which was vile! (We had purchased a drinks package so drank coffee freshly prepared at the various bars)
The entertainment team worked tirelessly to keep everyone amused and their late evening show would rival some we have seen in the West End - particularly the final evening when they performed a selection from well known musicals. We were lucky enough to see the comedian, Carl Schofield - an act not to be missed if you have the opportunity.
A spacious, well thought out cabin situated in the central part of the ship - quite nicely in touch with the sea. Kept immaculately clean by the staff with regular towel changes and the bins emptied twice daily!
